Last year I made some basil pesto but it wasn't enough, so this year I made sure to have plenty basil growing in my garden. When I had some extra room in my planters after removing the sick swiss chart and beets I added more basil. I have few different varieties, regular,red, and Italian big leaf basil. the last one is just amazing, I keep trimming it and it just keeps growing. I already made pesto twice this season and there will be plenty more. I freeze it in ice cube trays and then transfer them into freezer bags.
