Fall.

Fall decorations found on a nature walk plus a basket and few small pumpkins make a great display for your table.

Last canning.

This is probably my last canning this season, I was finally able to spend some time in the kitchen and made some mustard, canned beets and red cabbage.

In My Garden.

October 20th and in my garden I have lettuce, kale, tomatoes and herbs. Last few day it was really warm but starting today nights will be cold so today is the day when I cut down all my basil, dig out sweet potatoes and bring my tomato indoors.

Weekend dinner.

This weekend we had hamburgers for dinner but in a different way. Beside the traditional buns we used pita bread, I also made Greek yogurt sauce.

Thanksgiving.

Yesterday we celebrated Thanksgiving but the actual dinner we had on Sunday because my husband had to work yesterday. It was very simple with a squash soup, turkey, cranberry sauce, mushed potatoes, brussels sprouts and apple pie. This was my very first turkey because I usually make chicken but everything came out great and everyone enjoyed the food. This holiday always makes me think on a dipper level about what I have in my life and how lucky I am to be surrounded by my family.

In my Garden.

Yesterday I had some time to work in the garden, I cleaned, put few pots away, cut out some of the basil. I also found few beans, one strawberry and my lettuce is still growing. My tomato plant has few small tomatoes but its getting colder here so I don't know if they will grow much more.

Working.

Its been little quiet here and the reason for that is I started new job, as much as I would love to stay home for the rest of my life, take care of our home and kids reality is that we live in a big city and with that there are expenses. Recently we decided to get our kids into music school, plus my little one has karate classes and my older one does musical theater and all that costs a lot. I had an opportunity to work really close to home (10 minutes walk) and I took it. It is a big adjustment for all of us and its really hard for me but I believe that everything happens for a reason so right now I'm sticking with it. It feels like it was meant to be, I was kind of looking for a part time job, I applied in few places and then on the way to karate class I saw a sign for position that I could do, I send my resume next day and in a half an hour I received a call for interview and next day I had a job. There is a lot of things at home that are falling behind but slowly I'm getting on top of them, I miss sitting in my garden and reading and most of all I miss my family but I am hoping that after a while thing will slow down and I will spend more time at home.
