Kale and pie.

Yesterday I made some kale chips a delicious snack from my garden, and today probably last in this season peach pie. 

 

In My Garden.

So its Fall, one of my favorite seasons. I love the cooler weather with warm sun, changing colours on the trees, pumpkins ans apple pies. My garden looks like the season of gardening is closing, after last herb cutting it looks little empty however there is still plenty green. The kale is growing beautifully, tomato has its last few tomatoes, beans have some flowers and there is still plenty of basil for every day meals. Carrots didn't grow perhaps I planted them too late, second round of potatoes didn't work and the strawberries are done.

The other day we had some kale and few beans for dinner with rice and chicken.

 

Bread.

Produce bags.

I made my own produce bags so now when I do groceries I don't have to use the plastic bags that the store provides, at least for the fruits and veggies. I just used some stiff tulle and cotton strings and made different size bags. They work great and if they get dirty you can just wash them in your sink, last week I accidentally squashed tomatoes so I just rinsed it and hang it to dry.

 

In my Garden.

Garden looks good, last week was extremely hot with temperature reaching 40s (Celsius) so there was more watering and some plants didn't take the heat well but now its getting better. Cucumber will be pulled out today, there is no more cucumbers and the plant itself looks yellow, beans are blooming, kale is growing like crazy, still lots of basil and other herbs, few tomatoes and there is another strawberry. I also added new flower to my window.

   

Stock.

Yesterday was a chicken stock day. I had a nice big fresh chicken and decided to make some stock, I put it in 1L jars and froze it. I keep 1 or 2 jars in a fridge so if I need it its there and as I use it I put the next two jars in the fridge and let them defrost in there.

 

From the market.

Last week I got some organic goodness at the Farmers Market, eggs, zucchini, watermelon, kohlrabi and rosemary bread.
