Tomatoes.

Yesterday I finished all the tomato canning, I did get extra box, this time smaller just 11 lb. So on the end I made 24 jars of salsa, 12 jars canned tomatoes for soup, 5 jars of dry tomatoes in oil and 25 jars of pasta sauce.

Tomatoes day 1.

On Saturday I got 60 lb basket of tomatoes and will be spending next few days in the kitchen canning. Yesterday I made 24 jars of salsa and the plan for today is canning full tomatoes for soups and preparing the rest for drying ( I dry tomato quarters in the oven and fill the jars with garlic, thyme and oil, so they are like sundry tomatoes),  and sauce.

Cauliflower.

The time has come for cauliflower, I found local for a great price so I got few and froze them for winter for soups.

Baking

I did some baking recently, I have days where I could bake all day and then we have so much sweetness at home. I made blueberry mini pies and sour cream plum kuchen. I roasted some chick peas and made buns.

Zucchini

This year I got some extra zucchini because the price was really low and decided to freeze it for soups.

Blanching before freezing.

Mulberries.

Few years ago I discovered mulberry trees in a public park and have been picking them every year. This year I went twice because the first time the fruit was just starting so there wasn't that much to pick. The first pick I froze and the second one I turned into jam. With the frozen mulberries I will probably make turnovers.

We also spotted someone enjoying the berries:
